Year 7 Bright Challenge

This week’s meeting was another great success so thank you to all of you who attended.

Many thanks for the posters for Read It Week, they have been very creative and I’ve been impressed by the excellent standard. Please do keep sending them to me at ecurran@alexandrapark.haringey.sch.uk with our slogan ‘Just Read it’. They need to be completed by next Thursday.

Please do continue to read ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ as we’ll be discussing this at more length in our next meeting. Do post your responses to the book onto the Blog in order that we can all share our ideas. Please complete the activity on poetic terms in your booklets and I look forward to you impressing me with your knowledge in our next session which will be on Thursday 4th June during lunchtime.

Well done to our new APS journalists: Charlie and Liam. I will be contacting you next week to discuss this new role.

Year 7 Bright Challenge

Last week’s meeting was very successful; the students had lots of ideas for various books we could read and all proved themselves to be enthusiastic readers. We decided upon ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’ and we will be looking at this text in our next meeting.

Our next meeting will take place on Thursday 7th May in room 119. Please bring along the poster for ‘Readit’ week which you are designing or email them to me at ecurran@alexandrapark.haringey.sch.uk. I look forward to seeing them and of course you!

Best wishes, Ms Curran.

Also do remember that it’s the meeting about the Carnegie prize on Tuedsay 19th May in room 220 during lunchtime, so go along to discuss your ideas.
